The national chips and snack recall imposed by Frito Lay on multiple products is impacting numerous grocery stores across Canada, including Costco, Walmart and Dollarama.
All three big-name stores say some of the products in question, under recall over salmonella fears, were sold at their stores.
SunChips Harvest Cheddar Flavour Multigrain Snacks and Munchies Original Snack Mix (Costco items 100778, 1531412, 101643, 137933) were sold at a Costco warehouse or Costco Business Centre in Canada or on Costco.ca between April 2024 and May 2024, the warehouse giant confirmed on its website.
"If you have the affected SunChips Harvest Cheddar Flavour Multigrain Snacks or Munchies Original Snack Mix in your possession, do not consume it," Costco said in its "important" recall notice. "You may return it to a Costco warehouse to obtain a full refund."

Walmart spokesperson Stephanie Fusco confirmed the products were sold in Walmart stores and on Walmart.ca but have been "removed from sale."
Dollarama confirmed on its website the snacks were sold in its stores.
"You should immediately stop using the product and either discard it or return it to any of our stores for a full refund," Dollarama said in a general message on its recall page.
PepsiCo Foods Canada, which owns Frito Lay Canada, announced Monday that, “out of an abundance of caution,” it is voluntarily recalling SunChips Harvest Cheddar Flavour Multigrain Snacks and Munchies Original Snack Mix.

“This action is the direct result of a seasoning supplier’s notification that an ingredient supplied to it by a third party was potentially contaminated with salmonella,” the company said in a news release. “Although no salmonella was found in the seasoning supplied to Frito Lay Canada, the company has decided to recall these products out of an abundance of caution.”
Sobeys has confirmed some of the recalled products were sold at its Sobeys, FreshCo, Foodland and other stores, while Metro has confirmed its Metro and Food Basics stores carry the products, but all have been removed from marketplace.
Loblaw Companies Limited, which owns stores such as No Frills, Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws and Real Canadian Superstore, would neither confirm nor deny it carries any of the products and if so, won’t say whether they’ve been removed from shelves.
PepsiCo spokesperson Sophie Johnston, said in an email late Wednesday “the Frito Lay team states that the impacted product was distributed to all retailers nationally, including banners.”
The LCBO meanwhile, has been informed that Sunscope has initiated a voluntary recall in Canada of a NÜTRL-branded promotional tumbler due to a manufacturing defect that may present a safety hazard, the LCBO said in a press release.
The tumbler was offered as a gift with purchase of the below products in LCBO stores in April and May of this year:
• LCBO #24407 Nutrl The Mixed
• LCBO #36592 Nutrl 7 Mixed Pack
• LCBO #37082 Nutrl Vodka Soda Tropical Mixed pack.
"Consumers should immediately stop using" the tumbler and call the NÜTRL Tumbler Recall Hotline at 1-866-846-1778.
