Local and account journals

Dream titles, text, feelings and dates stay in your browser or app on your device by default. Connecting your 58.ca account lets account entries sync over HTTPS and be encrypted at rest. Local entries upload only when you explicitly choose Import local entries. Clearing browser data or uninstalling the app may remove local records.

Account and server data

The website uses the existing 58.ca community login. The app opens authorization in your browser and does not receive your community password. Its journal authorization token lasts one hour. The server stores your account ID, journal revision, encrypted journal and update time. Encryption is performed on the server, so it is not end-to-end encryption. Authorized site operators may process data. The website and network services may log IP addresses and request metadata for security and troubleshooting.

AI interpretation

Only after you select AI interpretation and confirm, the selected dream title, text and feeling are sent to OpenAI. Dictionary browsing does not send dreams to AI. Results are saved with your account journal. Requests disable API application-state storage, but this does not mean the provider retains no data; its retention policies still apply. Do not submit sensitive information you do not want the provider to process.

Speech and reminders

Speech recognition is provided by your browser or phone system, whose service may process audio. Recognized text goes into an editable field and is not automatically saved or uploaded. Speech permissions are requested when you start dictation. Native morning reminders are scheduled locally and contain a generic prompt, never your dream text. You can turn reminders off.

Export, deletion and retention

Exports contain plaintext dreams and interpretations; keep them private. You can delete individual entries or clear your account dreams after connecting. Account records remain until deleted. Historical copies may temporarily remain in site backups. Contact support about backup data, account deletion or other privacy requests. Clearing dream entries does not delete your 58.ca community account.
